Understand Will Writing &

Estate Planning

We can help with your Wills & Estate Planning

If you are an Expat and living overseas, or hold assets in countries other than the one you are living in: you need a Will.

It’s not something that we like to think about, but a poorly structured estate could leave your assets (and by association, your loved ones and dependents) tied up in legal red tape in the event of your death.

The key areas and people you need to think about in writing your Will(s).

This is a small insight of the information contained in our guide to help you begin effectively planning for your Wills and Estate.

Do I Need a Will?

The short answer is YES...in fact there are very few people we meet that don't need a Will;

  • Making a Will protects your family; appoint guardians for your children.
  • Carries out your wishes as to who would be looked after.
  • Helps to protect and pass on your wealth.
  • Allows you and your family to plan for the future, ensuring that your property and financial affairs are managed as you intended after you die.

What Happens if I do Nothing?

If you die without a legally binding Will, you die intestate. This means that the law will decide who inherits your estate. Not you. Not your next of kin. The Law.

It also means the Law decides who would raise your children, what happens to your pets and so on...

It's important to remember that the Law varies greatly from country to country, and what applies in one jurisdiction might not apply in another.

My Situation is Complex...

We have never come across an estate too complex to plan for; in fact we specialise in complex cases, whether it's a multitude of jurisdictions or blended families we have seen it all before.

In reality, when you speak to one of our Estate planner you will begin to realise that making your Will and Estate Plan is far easier than you would imagine. We know Wills are forever on the bottom of people's "to-do" list, so it's our goal to make things as efficient and easy as possible for you.
